Executive Staff - Director of Compliance and Special Projects

Dr. Tiffany Pitts Simpson is Director of Special Projects and Legislative Affairs.  She is also a compliance officer for the Office of the State Public Defender.  Her duties include organizing and supervising the completion of all special projects necessary to fully implement the mission, vision, and strategic plan of the office.  As compliance officer, she reviews district budgets, evaluates district compliance with all policies, standards, guidelines, and state law.  Additionally, she monitors contractor compliance with OSPD requirements and deliverables.  In her capacity as Director of Legislative Affairs, she prepares legislative presentations, completes fiscal note requests, and responds to requests for information from the Office of the Governor, Division of Administration, and the Legislature.  She also tracks all proposed legislation and appears before legislative committees when requested by the State Public Defender.  Tiffany Simpson earned a Bachelor of Sciences and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Louisiana State University, a Master of Arts Degree from Texas Southern University, a Master of Science Degree from the University of New Orleans, as well as Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Applied Developmental Psychology from the University of New Orleans.
